Stir-Fried Bulgar

Updated: Jul 6, 2020

We were craving stir fry and rice but we were trying to be healthy. This bulgar recipe is so super easy and quick to make! It has become a staple for us now because it is simply so delicious. If you want a substitute for rice then this is it!

Ingredients

  • Half an onion

  • 1 cup Bulgar

  • 1 scotch bonnet diced

  • Carrot

  • Peas

  • Green beans

  • Sweetcorn

  • 1tbsp soy sauce

  • 1tsp all purpose seasoning

  • 1tbsp oyster sauce

  • 1tsp black pepper

  • 1tsp garlic / ginger paste

  • Salt to taste

Steps

  1. Cut up all your vegetables and set aside. Boil your bulgar for about 10-12 mins so it is relatively soft.

  2. In a wok, pour 1 tbsp of olive oil, add in onions, scotch bonnet, garlic and ginger. Let these cook for about 2 mins until golden but not burnt.

  3. Then add sautee vegetables until they are soft. This should take about 5-7 mins depending on how crunchy or soft you like the vegetables.

  4. Set the vegetables aside. Following this, add in cooked bulgar. When you do this, add in soy sauce, all-purpose seasoning, oyster sauce, and black pepper. Let this simmer for 2 mins until bulgar is coated in the sauce. Add in vegetables and voila!
