SPICY HONEY BBQ WINGS & EGG FRIED RICE



These wings are the perfect blend of sweet and spicy. If you like you wings succulent and rich we recommend you give this a go! They have just the perfect amount of BBQ, not too overpowering nor underwhelming. If you try this recipe let us know what you think in the comments!

 

Ingredients

  • Chicken Wings

  • 2 Atarodo or 2 Chillies

  • 2 tbsp Barbecue sauce

  • 1 tsp Oyster sauce

  • 1/s tsp Black pepper

  • 1 tsp Lagos chilli pepper or Chilli powder

  • 1 and 1/2 tbsp Soy sauce

  • 1 tsp Paprika

  • 1/2 tsp Thyme

  • 1/2 tsp oregano

  • 1 and 1/2 tsp Garlic and Ginger paste or powder (whichever you have)

  • Knorr

  • 1 tbsp All purpose seasoning

  • Parsley


Marinade whilst in the oven

  • 1 and 1/2 tbsp Honey

  • 1 tsp soy sauce

  • 1 tsp oyster sauce

  • 1 tsp chilli powder

  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

  • 1 tsp sesame seeds


Steps:

  1. Firstly, clean your chicken with lemon juice, salt and water and let it sit for about 10 minutes.

  2. Once that’s done, wash thoroughly and place in a bowl.

  3. Put all your ingredients and mix in till all of it is incorporated and cover with cling film and place in fridge.

  4. I marinated by chicken overnight but if you don’t have the time you can leave in the fridge for a minimum of 30 minutes.

  5. Once you have taken out of the fridge put on the oven to 180 degree celsius

  6. Line your tray with aluminium foil and pour in your chicken wings, spread evenly so they cook thoroughly. Set the timer for about 25 - 30 minutes but make sure to check them within that time as well

  7. Now you can mix the sauce you put on top (the marinade whilst in the oven)

  8. Bring them out once they’ve started turning golden brown and turn them then use a brush if you have one to put the mixture on top evenly and place back in the even for 10 minutes

  9. Once they are done you can bring out and sprinkle some chilli flakes, parsley and sesame seeds and voila.


 

Egg Fried Rice


Ingredients

  • Basmati or Jasmine Rice

  • Spring onions (about 2 or 3)

  • Green beans

  • Sugar snaps

  • 2/3 Eggs

  • Knorr seasoning

  • 1 scallion or half an onion

  • 1 tsp ginger and garlic paste

  • A mix of Soy (2 tbsp), Oyster ( 1 tsp) and Hoisin Sauce (1 tsp)


Steps:

  1. Boil your rice till it's done and rinse through with cold water then set aside.

  2. Fry your eggs and scramble them then when it's done put them aside in a bowl.

  3. In the same pot, put in your onions, ginger and garlic paste and fry till the onions are golden brown then add in your vegetables and wait till they are cooked through.

  4. You can add in the rice now and mix well with the vegetables then add in the soy sauce mixture. let it cook for a few minutes so everything mixes well.

  5. Once you have added in the mix, taste the rice and if its good for you then it's done but if it's not you can add in some knorr and mix and it should be perfect then.
