KING PRAWN AND MUSSEL PASTA

For our seafood lovers, this is another one for you! This sauce used in this recipe is very light but rich at the same time, has all the essential flavours for a pasta sauce so we're sure you'll love it as much as we did! let us know if you try it out!

 

Ingredients

  • 1 pack of king prawns

  • half a pack of deshelled mussels

  • pasta (any of your choice)

  • 1 pack of fresh plum/baby tomatoes

  • 1/2 tsp parsley

  • 1 shallot or half an onion

  • 3 garlic cloves

  • knorr

  • 1 tsp black pepper

  • 1 tsp italian blend seasoning

  • 1/2 tsp paprika

  • olive oil

  • 2 peppers (atarodo or chilli)

  • a spoonful of tomato sauce


Steps:


  1. First, butterfly the prawns

  2. Fry shallots, garlic and pepper in some olive oil for a few minutes then add in fresh plum tomatoes and about a spoonful of tomato passata and add in the knorr, black pepper and paprika and let that cook till the tomatoes start breaking down. (about 10 minutes or longer, depends on the heat) if you have white wine, now would be a good time to add that.

  3. Add in the seafood now and cook for a few minutes

  4. I usually cook my pasta simultaneously so i can use the pasta water (this makes all the difference in pasta dishes but only about half a cup in this dish )

  5. Cook this for a few minutes then add in the pasta water. Cook for about 3 - 5 minutes and add in some all purpose seasoning if you’d like.

  6. Once that’s fine you can add in your pasta and mix then put it in your parsley and all done.
