Crispy Chilli Beef

We've been on the lookout for different recipes to try and we decided to try crispy chilli beef as we've never made it before and it came out quite good! The beef wasn't too hard and crispy, it was still soft enough and enjoyable so we highly recommend this recipe! We got it from the Tasty App, We recommend that everyone get this app! There is so much to explore on there and they offer tutorial videos for all the recipes!

 

Ingredients

  • Steak / Beef (frying)

  • 100g Corn Flour

  • 1 tbsp Chinese 5 spice

  • 1 tsp Salt

  • 1 tsp pepper

  • 3 Fresh Red Chilli’s

  • 2 Spring / Green onion (sliced thinly)

  • Vegetable oil (for frying)

  • 1 Whole Red Pepper (sliced thin)

  • 1 tbsp garlic & ginger paste

  • 1 tbsp sweet chilli sauce

  • 1 tbsp soy sauce

  • 1 tbsp ketchup

  • 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar


Steps

  1. Slice the beef into thin strips

  2. In a bowl place the beef, with cornflour, Chinese 5 spice, salt and pepper. mix until each slice is coated evenly

  3. Heat the oil in a pan then fry the beef in batches for about 4-5 mins (it should be crispy but not crunchy)

  4. In another pan, pour some oil and fry the spring onions, red chillies and red peppers. Following this, you add the garlic and ginger paste and fry for a minute or two.

  5. You then go in with the soy sauce, sweet chilli, ketchup, balsamic vinegar until the sauce is on the thicker side

  6. Add the beef to the pan where the sauce is and voila!
