Beef Tacos 🌮

This recipe is very similar to our other taco recipe, we only changed the taco shells, incorporated some spicy mayo and used beef instead of lamb! We’d say this is better for sure! The meat was so juicy and flavourful *chefs kiss* and it's not time consuming at all so definitely give this a go if you love tacos.

Ingredients for beef:

  • 1 tsp Black pepper

  • 1 tsp white pepper

  • 1 tsp Chilli powder

  • 1 tbsp Soy sauce

  • 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar

  • 1 tsp Paprika

  • 1/2 tsp Thyme

  • 1/2 tsp oregano

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1 tbsp all purpose seasoning

  • 1/2 tsp parsley

  • 1/4 onion

  • 2/3 garlic (pressed)

  • Plain white tortillas

Guacamole:

  • 3 ripe Avocados

  • 1/4 cup finely minced onion

  • 1 1/2 tablespoons fresh lime juice (or lemon juice)

  • 1 large Plum or Roma tomato, deseeded and diced

  • 1/4 cup cilantro leaves and tender stems, chopped

  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin, optional

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt, or more to taste

  • 1/2 atarodo pepper or 1 chilli pepper 🌶

Salsa:

  • About six tomatoes finely chopped

  • 1/2 medium onion (1 cup chopped)

  • 1 or 2 atarodo pepper seeded and finely minced or 1 red chilli pepper 🌶

  • 1/2 cup cilantro chopped

  • 2 Tbsp lime juice from 1 lime

  • 1/2 tsp salt or to taste

  • 1/8 tsp black pepper

Spicy Mayo:

  • 3/4 tbsp Mayo

  • 2/3 tbsp Ketchup

  • 1 tbsp Chilli powder or lagos chilli pepper

  • 1 tsp black pepper

  • 1 tbsp sriracha

  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

Steps:

  1. Make sure to clean your meat with lemon and water till it’s not bloody anymore as beef is usually bloody. Once that’s clean, cut up your beef into small pieces then add in your seasoning and set aside to marinate.

  2. For the guacamole, cut up and mash your avocados until it’s the consistency you desire then add in the rest of the ingredients. so easy!

  3. For the salsa, just do the same, cut up your tomatoes till its the amount you want then add in the rest of the ingredients and mix its everything is incorporated, finito.

  4. Set these aside and work on your beef.

  5. You can use a wide pan like we did but any type of cookware is fine.

  6. In your pan pour in your oil and add in your onion and garlic once hot. Once the onion and garlic are fragrant add in your beef, it’ll release some water while cooking, you can reduce the heat and continue cooking till the liquid has more or less dried up and that’s all. We didn’t add any extra seasoning but you can if you feel it’s necessary!

  7. For the tortillas we placed them in the oven for about 4-7 minutes on 170 degrees celsius between every other line of the oven rack so they have the shape of the tacos but make sure to keep and eye so they’re not too crispy. OR you can always eat with without placing them in the oven, both are great.

  8. We assembled the tacos like so: tortilla -> spicy mayo -> beef -> guac -> salsa -> spicy mayo but you’re free to assembles it how you like!

  9. That’s all!
